Introducing the NATA Championship

Time trials can be complicated. The NATA Championship is simple: Compete in participating events to collect points in your chosen class. Run additional events for additional points. Signup is automatic and every participant is eligible.

At the end of the season, the top three finishers in each class will win a free entry of their choice to any organization they didn't run with (or the organization of their choice if they ran with all three), and they’ll be featured in a story in Grassroots Motorsports magazine.

 Points Structure

Points

Points are based on a driver’s single best lap time across the competition sessions of an event.  The overall fastest lap time will earn that driver 100 points. For the rest of the drivers in the event, points will be calculated by dividing their time (in seconds) by the overall top time. Example- if the top time is 119.000, a driver with a best time of 120.000 would receive 99.16 points (119.000/120.000=99.16).

Championships

Championships will be awarded based upon points earned in a driver’s best three events. In the event of a tie, head-to-head competition will be used to break the tie, with the win going to the driver who beat the other the most times- Note- head-to-head must be in the class for which the championship is tied.  If the tie remains, points from a driver’s 4th best event will be used to break the tie.
